2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD is a dependable and powerful heavy-duty truck. Apart from a robust available diesel powertrain, this truck offers strong towing and hauling capabilities, advanced trailering technologies, and a spacious cabin.
Trim Levels
The Silverado 2500 HD is available in a crew-cab, double-cab, and regular-cab body style. You can also choose between a standard or long bed. The truck is offered in five trim levels: the Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. In addition, various special-edition models are featured. These include the Carhartt Edition, Z71 Sport Edition, and HD Midnight Edition.
The Work Truck is equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, a CornerStep rear bumper, daytime running lamps, halogen reflector headlamps, a locking tailgate, and a side BedStep. Power-adjustable vertical trailering mirrors and 20-inch aluminum wheels are added with the Custom trim. With the LT trim, you receive 17-inch aluminum wheels, deep-tinted glass, and a tailgate with EZ Lift assist.
Apart from 18-inch aluminum wheels, the LTZ trim features LED fog lamps, LED headlights and taillights, and rear wheelhouse liners. The High Country trim comes with 20-inch 16-spoke polished aluminum wheels, 6-inch rectangular assist steps, cargo bed lighting, a spray-on bed liner, and a power-up-and-down tailgate.
Engine
Two powertrains are offered with the Silverado 2500 HD. The standard 6.6-liter V-8 gas engine mates with a six-speed automatic transmission and produces an output of 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. For an impressive output of 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque, opt for the available Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V-8 engine. It pairs with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission. Both engines are available with either a rear- or four-wheel-drive system. A dual-rear-wheel axle, which boosts the truck's towing capacity, is also offered on certain bed and cab configurations.
Performance
When properly equipped, the Silverado 2500 HD can tow up to 18,510 pounds. In addition, the truck's Durabed offers more cargo volume than that of any competitor. Apart from 12 standard tie-downs, you can equip the bed with LED cargo area lighting and an available built-in 120-volt outlet. Make your life easy by opting for the Multi-Flex tailgate, which offers six different functions that make loading and unloading much easier.
Interior
The spacious cabin of the Silverado 2500 HD boasts best-in-class front headroom and legroom. You also receive plenty of smart storage solutions, which includes a large center-console bin. Depending on the trim you go for, your truck may also be equipped with a storage compartment under the back seat. While the base trim is equipped for utility, the higher trims add various luxury items. Available features include a multi-color 15-inch head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and driver-seat memory. Depending on the trim, your truck may also be equipped with a premium Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. All trims come standard with Chevy's infotainment system, which is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Bluetooth, six speakers, and USB ports.
Safety Features
The Silverado 2500 HD can be equipped with available driver-assist features such as an HD surround-vision camera, forward-collision alert, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, lane-departure warning, and front and rear park assist.
